TAKE A HIKE ARROUND THE WORLD

Travelling was always our passion. In 2020 we made a decision for ourselves. We both quit our jobs in order to realign ourselves. We have always been best able to sort our thoughts on our travels. So we decided to take a 6 month break and travel arround the world. Our Trip is starting in January 2021 in Costa Rica. Then we decide what the next destination is.

We would love it if you would accompany us on our adventure!

For this i create Videos from the best Pictures and Captures of my GoPro. This time Special that i tried mostly to mix Songs from different Actors - Also the Lyrics must fit to the Pictures and the Story of the Video.

Enjoy!

The USA was our favourite Destination in the Past Years and there is always something new to explore. We went to Florida, back to Cape Coral. An Area full of Water Streets which is mostly for retirement. Next to the Everglades nothing big to explore. So we decided after 2 Weeks to find an adventure in the West and we booked a cheap Flight to Las Vegas and rented a Mobilhome there. The first destination was Death Valley which we never went before since travelling there is only possible until June. From a campground in Furnace we were suprised how many amazing Places this Valley have. From Sand dunes, to Golden Canyons and coloured Mountains. We even thought about to extend but decided to drive to Utah which we loved 2 years ago.
From California, trough Nevada and Arizona we drove to the Hurricane Cliffs. Whuile trying to park the camper we get stucked and we had to towed out of the gravel underground again.
We went trough Zion adn Bryce Canyon which is always worth to visit. We got a Tip to go to the Wild Horse Canyon which is located in the Goblin desster. On the way we came into a sandstorm which was special to drive with a camper when you got heavy crosswinds.
We found a beautiful Spot next to the entrance of the Trail adn the Trail got into our top 3 Hikes ever Done. It is an 9 Mile Trail which is perfect for kids. From Red, narrow Canyons you go into yellow bright Valleys and we needed about 5 hours for the complete round. AMAZING!!!
From the Goblin desert we wanted to drive to Page at Lake powell, but our camper decided to stop in an area without any cellphone signal. We waited there for 24 hours until we had to hitchhike all the way up to Salt Lake city (6 hours into the wrong direction)
We got a new camper but the big adventure was over since we had to drive all the way Back to Vegas which was an 600 km Drive straight without much to explore. We finalized our Trip at Lake MEad near Hover Dam and a last Night in Vegas.
This trip showed us all - From 45 Degres Celcius to Snow, from Golden Canyons to Red Climbing Rocks. It was our first time to have a camper but we really want to do it again. A new Feeling of freedom we didnt had before!!!

Panama we felt in Love with you!

We can report, that you really have much more than your Travel Marketing is publishing. In the beginning it was hard to find our destinations but once we started our way we found out that you have so much adventures that it changed to even decide which is the right one!!

We started our trip in Panama City in Casco Vjejo. With arrival on the airport and the drive to our first apartment we wondered if we are really stil in Central America. The first really Big town after Month and going into a supermarket was like a super wonderland where you can buy anything.
Casco Vjejo is the historical part and we loved to explore especially in Nighttime with a spectacular View to the City. Also we found how expensive the area of Casco Vjejo is for Dinner. Our first dinner was 10 times the price as our Last Dinner in Guatemala...

Form Casco Vjejo we drove to the pacific Ocean to San Carlos and it was the Basis for some trips. Especially El Valle, an town in an old Vulcano Crater, fascinated us.
Smal Hikes gave us an amazing Overview about the Valley.

From San Carlos we drove to Boquete and we were suprised about the temprature and hard rain which was coming down at the Boarder of Boquete since we had the whole day sun. This repeated every day. Outside Boquete we had 33 dregress with sun and drving home, Boquete welcomed us with hard rain and minus 10 degress then before. We learned that Boquete is even famous for that. Anyway we found our adventures like Sliding down a Waterfall at Cuesta die Pedra or searching for the Quetzal bird which is hard to find.

Bocas del Toro was earlier the reason that we even decided to come to Panama. After a long long drive on bad Roads (which are under Construction) and a 30 minute Boat Drive we arrived in Bocas and reached finally the caribic again. Funny was that our house in the middle of the ocean was only reachable per Boat and it is only one hour away from our very first House in the South of Costa Rica. It was the most relaxing time and direct under the house in a small riff there were so many beautiful fishes, so that this was our Main Activity. The boat asked everyday if we would join to the Town. If not we were just alone! One day we took the boat and drove to the famous Playa Estrella also called "Starfish Beach". Since tourism is less then 10 percent we spended hours there nearly alone. Never saw before that mayn and that big sea Stars.

On the way back we found in instagram a Hike near Ola. We hired a guide and went up to the Mountain on a narrow Path. Again we had to climb also and were glad that our son is even used to it after these 4 Month. The guide said he saw big man Crying on that Mountain and he just went up singing and dancing on the TOP :-D We are so glad that we can do such adventures with him.

The end was near and we found that there are much more places to explore.
Anyway we had to take our flight to the United States since we cancelled the same flight before....

We will come back !

 Lovely Guatemala,

To be honest you was not on our List. But with our arrival in Antigua we felt directly in love with you. Antigua is may the most beautiful colonial town we saw yet. With your streets, colors and awesome people you have the ability that people are like enchant.

We tried to explore you and we can tell it is not that easy at the beginning.
But we learned that you have a lot offers and even the first Activity ,Hike to Vulcano Acatenango and even sleep there was one of the biggest adventures of our lives so far. Also your Lakes with breathtaking views like Lake Attitlan were just AMAZING!
After that we drove to your pacific ocean and understood that this is a complete different area and we put our line jacket, which we needed in Antigua and Lake Attitlan, into the luggage since El Paredon gave us 36 degrees and a beautiful black beach with high waves. Like a magnet we went back Antigua which is also the planning central if nearly all Guatemala traveller's.
From there we planned together with our new friends Nicole and Fabrice from Switzerland, which we met in Acatenango, to drive to Semuc Champey. The planning said that it is an 8 hour drive but we had differences in Planning and reality on the roads before so we splitted the drive.
At the half of the way we went to Pruhala and again we learned to get now even the winter jackets which are still in the luggage from Germany out again.
The first time we putted the heating on in the car and drove the next day to TuqTuquial- a farm project which helps the local farmers and produce their own food and cacao. We loved to get really cutted of the social life - no internet at the living area, warm water if the sun is shining, bathrooms with Holes but staying there was one of our most relaxed times on this travel.
From there we also visited Sempuc champey which is an half an hour drive.
The roads are tough and without 4x4 not really possible.
But our Hike to the sempuc champey pools and tubing in the river was that amazing that we even decided to come back and live in one of your small hostels.
Another time we changed the luagage since up to 40 degrees let us only wear the swim clothes and sitting in one of the most beautiful rivers so far

Guatemala, you showed us all your faces. We are so thankful that you came to our List. Thanks for all and stay as you are!

There are 2 Videos - "Around Antigua" which shows the Trips: Antigua, Attitlan Lake and El Paredon on the Pacific Coast and "Around Lanquin" which shows our time at Lanquin and Semuc Champey in the North of Guatemala

ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME-HIKE AT ACATENANGO

 VIDEO CONTENT:

Once arrived in Antigua we learned that it is possible to hike to Vulcano Acatenango but the wrote it was a really hard hike. Anyway it was so hard in our heads to do it and we learned that it is even possible to sleep in a tent up on the Vulcano. So we booked a tour and were really not sure if we can make it and to do it with our 6 years old kid. We were told that it is a 10 km hike but we were hiking in the swiss alps 15 km and  more with our son before, so we decided to do it!!

Once arived at the start point of 2354 Meter on a farm we saw the top and we really first understood what we booked. The Hike is up to nearly 4000 Meter and you have to go trough different Zones of Lands, Rainforrest, Stone desserts. So we decided together with the tour Guide that we will rent a horse for our son since it would not be possible withou. The horse cannot go the whole hike but the first 60%

So we started and after 2 km we now really really understood what we booked. It was so steep, loose ground, stairs - 2 steps up - one back - Air getting more and more less. We had to stop every 50 meter to take a breath.

The Hike was 5 hours that way and we arrived on the Basis at 3823 Meter. The last 3 km our son has to walk with us since the horse was not able to walk anymore. We were so happy to arrived but also a bit dissapointed because after some minutes where we can see the  Fuego which is the active partner Vulcano  it was cloudy and foggy and we could not see the Fuego anymore. So we builded up the tent - made a fire and eat the a soup which the guide made for us. The clouds went not away and we were so tired, so that we decided to go to sleep at 9pm and Alexa and me will wake up at 12pm again and check if the fog and clouds may have gone. We set up the clock but we woke up earlier since we heard a big crash outside and - BAAAAMMM!! We went out of the tent - Full nightsky and a vulcano with full of Lava in Front of us exploding nearly every 10 Minutes. Alexa and me were sitting there next to the fire and watch 3 and half hours the full explosions. It was really really cold outside but it was so amazing to see vulcaono exolding and the Lava going down. A Lifetime experience for us!

At 4am it was planned that we go up to the really top on near to 4000 meter to see the sunrise. Again we had to learn that it is another 1,5 hour hike and it was completly dark. Our Son woke up by himself and we all get Flashlights on our heads. Again the same - Taking a breath every 50 Meters and the feet already hurts from the day hike before. But at 5.30 am we were up on the Top.

To be honest the sunset was not even that beautiful and it was cold, maybe even to cold. The ground was frozen and we decided really fast to go down again to the campfire. We were told that our son was the first 6 years old kid up there from the guide..

After a breakfast and unbuilding the tent we started to go down again and even forgot that this will be another 12 km hike only down.... We arrived at 3 pm in the hotel and we all had a hard long sleep - only a short break for dinner and sleep again.

This was the Hike of our Life - Hard to find a better Hike like this forever ...

The North of Yucatan

VIDEO CONTENT:  The Video shows a summary of all our stations at the North of Yucatan. From Tulum we drove to Chicxulub near Progreso and thought it will be our relaxing beach time. Unfortunatelly Progreso is the most windy town in Mexico and in the afternoon the wind really gets fast. Anyway we had a good Time and took it as a basis to drive to the Flamingos del Celestun which are in this area at this time of the year. Also we went to Merida - in the beginning only to cut our hairs after several weeks but it gets also a sightseeing Tour in a beautiful, modern but also traditional town. We found a lot of old Volkswagen Käfer which were build in Mexico until 2003. In Germany it has an oldtimer status but here in Yucatan you can find them still  a lot.
From Chicxulub we drove to Vallodalid with main Aim to visit Chichen Itza which is just 40 minutes from there. We woke up early since chichen itza is busy all the time - it is one of the 7 modern worldwonders...
Once arived we were the third car in the parking area and what we got was just midnblowing. The first half an hour we had the complete area for us alone. To have "el Castillo", the main Building,in his full beauty with a big Sun above it for you alone is really something unforgettable !!
On the second day we drove again to the beach to "Los Colorades" which is ion the end a salt factory but because of special bacteriums in the water the water shines pink.
At our last Day in Vallodalid we found that our neigbour is one of the most popoular Cenote in Yucatan - The Cenote Suytun. Since it was a 3 minute walk we went there directly after breakfast. After you went down the stairs you can see that they builded a pedestal which is getting the light from a hole in ceiling of the Cave and fishes are swimmimg in the light. We swam there for nearly 1 hour and even didn`t recognized that outside was the first rain on our complete Trip, but after some time it drops down trough the hole on you. Also a picture we will never forget!!!

Cenotes del Tulum

Video Content: we found our happy places in Tulum. Next to a beach area which was not that croudy the most beautiful places are the Cenotes and when you go early you have them alone.
The most beautiful was the grand cenote. You have to be there before 9 am since the tourists are comming around 11am.
When you swim through the cave you have bat's in the air and turtles swimming next to you. Again we are proud that our son also jumped with me from an almost 3 Meter Plattform into Cenote Corazon.
These places made Tulum great for us but we are happy to drive today to the North and explore Mexiko a bit within the drive.

Arrived in Mexico

VIDEO CONTENT: The Video shows our first days in Mexico. After one night in Cancun we drove to Tulum. Not really a scenic drive since it is 2 hours highway with no view. Once arrived  in Tulum we were a bit shocked when we tried to find a beach to see the sunset. We were not able to see the beach since on the main beach one big Beach Resort or Beach club next to each other reserved every centimeter of the beach. For sure you can go into a beach club and have to pay to see the beach... After 7 weeks of Costa Rica where we had the beaches nearly for us alone a bit scary. In between we talked to locals and did some research and we know now the places to go so we are happy again.
Our best Trip so far was the adventure to the City COBA. It is a one hour Drive from Tulum and you can visit an old Maya city there. Real fun was to explore the Maya Buildings by Rental Bikes - Old Bikes but Bikes :-D

Our most favourites are the Cenotes. Yucatan has about 7000 of it and you can find these Water holes with crystal clear blue Water as open lakes or as Caves. Again the most famous are may busy (we even didn´t tried) but you can find a lot of them without tourists. We decide on the numbers of cars at their parking areas.

We are in Tulum until Saturday until we drive to the North of Yucatan. What we are really looking for is to see Mexico. Until now we do not feel like we have seen Mexico yet...

COSTA RICA, We understood you. For sure we knew before that you have wonderful landscapes and breathtaking fauna and yes after 7 weeks we can insure that you have! But after visiting nearly all areas and driving about 3000 km, we think it is something special you call "PURA VIDA"
It is a kind of lifestyle in harmony with your FLORA and FAUNA and living and enjoying Day by Day. We love your compatriots and we didn´t found anybody in theses 7 weeks not greeting, helping or laughing with us.
Costa Rica You are amazing!

You have the full pallet of attractions from caribean seas, rough pacific oceans to beautiful mountain hikes with your lovely waterfalls which were our Highlights on every Tour. It is hard to recommend which was the best. Somebody really has to decide what he wants to do before. We are thankful, that you showed us nearly all of you facest.

We want to say thank you for having us from the bottom of our heart!

Last Days in Costa Rica

VIDEO CONTENT: The Video shows our last days in Costa Rica. We drove down the southern part of the pacific coast and spended beautiful hours mostly on the beaches with breathtaking sunsets. We found beautiful homes at Playa Esterillos and Playa Ballena and really enjoyed our last days. We made small tours arround the area but in the end the Freylights where enjoying time together in the Pool and on the beaches. Especially in Uvita we had also beautiful nightskies which i filmed the first time. Not perfect yet but glad that you can see the stars moving in the first part of the Video.

From Manzanillo to San Juan de Dias

VIDEO CONTENT: Already a bit ago but unfortunately we didn't had the internet performance needed to upload a video. This video shows our stay in beautiful Calamocha lodge. It is laying up on a hill near Manzanillo and it feels just like paradise. Sitting on your terrace watching / listening monkeys and other anmials was just incredible. Swimming and having fun in the pool with an amazing view was our main activity. The pool is shared and we met great people there and the manager of Calamocha (Veronique) is just lovely and bring all people together. She is the heart of all and her soul swings all around complete Calamocha Lodges. She made our stay the most emotional stays in Costa Rica. Thanks for All!
Once she took us to turtle release at Playa Aria we had to learn that we are able to drive by car on the beach. This is common in this area. Something really special for us since we didn't made it before. The first day we even walked to Turtle Release station but it was a really long way. So we decided the next times to drive by car also. Driving with the car with a sundowner on the left, flying birds above you and beautiful palms on the right. This was just mind blowing...

From Calamocha we did a trip again to Montezuma. We went there with the Atv's before. The aim was to find the Waterfalls of Montezuma. The first kilometers was an easy Hike but next before the Waterfall we had to climb a bit. There are some ropes which made it a bit easier but when your son does not reach the rope it is even more difficult. Anyway we made it. After that much Waterfalls we visited I was encouraged to explore the Waterfall this time a bit more then the others 😊

From Manzanillo we started to our next destination at San Juan de Dias. We decided to take the Ferry which saved us at least 2 hours of driving and it was well organised. Once arrived in Puntarenas Harbour it was only another hour to go. When you book a house on AIRBNB from Germany you does not really care about where the house is located. So we had to learn again that the next house is again an 20 minutes drive on a sandy dirty and steep road but as always once arrived we were that happy about the view we earned. The Chillanga lodges are three houses located in a huge area of Mango Trees, lemons, pineapples and all other fruits of Costa Rica. The area has an own 11 km hiking area. Never saw a Mango tree before but to be honest walking trough and smelling them was the even greater experience. A highlight of the hike is the River Jesus Maria which is in the valley of the area. A great place to swim but a even greater playground for our son. We created next to the big river smaller rivers by stones and excavations. We spended hours there and we were all happy about the results.

Next destinations are all down the pacific until we arrive Uvita in the South West of Costa RIca.

ATV Ride to Montezuma

Since we had to learn that the Area of Santa Teresa does not have much asphalt roads we decided to rent Atv's to do a day trip to the other side to Montezuma. The roads are really really hard, dusty, dirty and a lot of bumps which are deep and especially in night time dangerous. We rented the Atv's in Santa Teresa Town and we were that surprised that even the town doesn't have asphalt roads. Santa Teresa is the dirtiest, and most sandy town we have ever saw. You have sand dust just everywhere. To be honest we thought it is a millionaires town since we heard a lot of Vips have houses there like Tom Brady, and Di Caprio and Madonna. But what we found shocked us. It is very very busy, 100 of surfboards on Atv's, cars or motor cycles. A Crazy surfing, young lifestyle town.

After we get our Atv's we had to start directly into the busy roads and we were lucky when we reached the town boarder. All the way to Montezuma was also dusty roads and our eyes were stressed because of a lot of sand in it. But once arrived in Montezuma we drove all the way long on the coast and found many many beaches and did a lot of beautiful stops. There was one island before cabuya which is used as the local cementary. This was a pretty cool thought that you know you will end on an island like this. Back to Santa Teresa we took the so called Monkey Trail. We didn't saw monkeys but it was a beautiful road with small river crossings.

Next to all for sure we were proud again of our son since he asked if he can drive by his own. We let him drive in a quite area and we're surprised how well he did it. We are sure this is because he had a lot of training on the lawn mower tractor with his grandfather😉

Drive down the Pacific Coast

After 3 days in Potrero und 4 days in Sámara we went our way Down do Calamocha near Santa Teresa. I did not follow the recommendation of Google maps and decided to went all along the coast which ended in a 90 km dirty road with 3 rivers which we had to cross with our car. So even the drive was an experience. Once arrived we felt like home in Calamocha were we booked a jungle lodge and we getted surprised directly since Veronique the owner came and asked if we want to come with her releasing baby turtles at the beach. For sure we said yes and it was absolutely an amazing experience. Our son was responsible for 6 baby turtles to put them out of the Box and help them all the way to the sea. Wow!

The next Morning at 5am we had a concert of very Lod monkeys which are sitting directly in front of our lodge. Sounds we have never heard before and in the beginning we even thought it is a much bigger animal until we saw them. We love to stay here for one week. Tomorrow we rented Atv's. Pretty sure it will be the next Freylight.😊

Drive from Puerto Vjejo to El Castillo

Video Content/Story: As written i am a bit behind with our videos since internet is not always working as it should. A 2 day full outage is normal as we were told. Anyway here is the story of leaving Puerto Vjejo and driving to El Castillo next to Volcano Arenal. Ari was very very sad when we left our house with Dog SAM but he was getting Suprised with COOKIE, the dog at the next house. Since it was raining 4 days in a row and i created aready an own video for Zipline these are our adventures at El Castillo. Pretty cool was bathing in the Hot Springs which looks like a normal small river but since it is comming from the vulcano it has 42 degrees. Also on every Hike you find Waterfalls and we love to explore them :-D

THE PROUDEST PARENTS WHILE ZIPLING IN EL CASTILLO SKYADVENTURES

Video Content/Story: ONLINE AGAIN- Yeah! After 7 days of sitting 5 days OFFLINE up on a Hill in El Castillo with hard rains and storms and do not seeing anything, we are now already on the pacific site. So i have to rework all photos and video footage here and the timeline will not be 100% correct. But i told already some guys about the great experience of our zipline adventure. So i decided to start with uploading this one.

The first two days we had a beautiful view to the Vulcano Arenal. On the 3rd day we went up for a hike in Arenal Observatory. It started already in the morning to get cloudy - anyway we hiked about 11 km at the foot of the Volcano without seeing him. So it was a nice walk, but a bit dissapointing because it was promised to see the Lava Flow. After 3 Hours we were back on the car and decided to go home. On the way back there was a sign of Skyadventures. Spontaneous we turned left and drove to the entry. On the parking area: 3 other cars. We saw a chance in it since the hike was not completely fulfilling. Alexa asked if there is still a run and the employee said promt: Yes in 10 minutes. You have to know that we had this topic before with Ari and he told us in Germany that he will not do it. But on the parking area he was the one who said. Come on, let's do it (Without knowing what it really means :-))
So we bought Tickets. We were belted and went up on the Hill with an open Gondola. We learned that it will not be One Zipline rather then 7 from the Hill over the Valley and back. Ari saw the first Big Line(750 meter and 220 meter depth) and he understood his decision. Fortunately the really first one was a training line, since you have to break by your own ( i didn´t knew either) And the first he did even alone by himself. The next one was the big one. We decided together with the guides that it is better when somebody will drive with him. So he must be always the last one since there are 2 Guides - One in the front who drives to the other site and one always the last. So we drove before Ari and had to wait until he is comming with the last guide. We wondered really about his reaction but he cam down with a smile. We were bursting with pride. This story and all other runs can you see in the Video Link.

NATIONALPARK CAHUITA

Date: 23.01.2021

Today we visited Nationalpark Cahuita. We visited it before but the first time we took the main Entrance. This time we tried a second more hidden entry most tourists do not know. The entry is called Puerto Vargas Station. The hike starts on a never ending bridge trough the Rainforest. Unfortunately the same as before. We hear a lot of animals like birds and monkeys but we do not see them. On the main entry a guide said to us-no guide - no animals. I answered : We will see. I will never ever tell him that he was right. Anyway it was a beautiful hike trough the Rainforest and at the end of the bridge we learned it was 2,5 km until you arrive the beach. Again a very natural and gruff beach with a lot of fallen trees and palms. We hikes until the end Point Puerto Vargas which is on the top and what we found there was a real, very white sand Caribbean Beach. No waves, no 28 degrees water temperature. Absolutely just a perfect place to stay. What you have to know is that the park is closing on 4pm but since you need time latest at 2 pm ranger go trough and prompt you to go. In the end it was a 10 km hike but really worth it.

TOOK A HIKE IN INDIGENA RESERVA

Video Content: A Video which can only be understood when you know the story behind. We got a tip from a local, that there is somewhere a super high waterfall in KEKOLDI INDIGENA RESERVA . So we decided to drive there. Once arrive, there was nothing and we took the only  road up to the hill. About 5 km more on a real dirty, steep road we wanted to giv up but out of nowhere we found a house and a family was sitting outside. The only word we know fro our project in spanish was "CATARATA" which is the spanish word for waterfall. After a conversation with all arms and legs the owner showed us, that he will putting his shoes on. Once he came back he weared robber boots and had a big machete in his hand and he started to walk. We followed him without knowing where and how long to go.

What followed was the most exhausting hike we have ever done. It was trough the rainforrest mostly with loose Ground with a lot ups and downs. We even do not know but in the end it must hav been about  11-13 km. Since it was still not possible to talk via language we found a way to communicate by hands, sounds and gestures which was needed to get safe to our destination. We had to climb down the hill until we finally reached the highest Waterfall we saw so far. Not a beauty to swim but even more natural Power as the last Waterfall.
I swam as near as possible and it was nearly like to sit in mid of a storm. It is loud, cold and windy but im very happy that i have done it.

After 5 hours we were back at the car. We were very proud of our son who walked the complete way on his own. He slept 2 mins aftersitting in the car. We had to take a nap when we arrive back at our house. One day later and we can still feel every bone :-)

Quality time in Puerto Viejo

14.01.2021 -19.01.2021

After our Arrival in Puerto Viejo we spended a lot of our time in our beautiful House Casa Blanca. It has huge, beautiful grounds and there is always something new to discover in the garden. To be honest we found more animals here in our garden then in the National parks. I reported already from the Sloth bear hanging there. Next to him we had monkeys playing in the trees , hummingbirds flying around the amazing flowers and every night a loud frog concert starts which is a perfect match to the sound of the sea which we can hear from our terrace. There is a house keeper who takes  care about all and he is doing a perfect job. We talk a lot to each other and it works even he does not speek english and our spanish is still in it infancy. To the house belongs also a dog named "SAM" which is guarding the complete area - Such a dear, trusting dog and everyone who knows me knows that I am normally afraid of dogs. Our Son and Sam gets best friends and we had a lot of Fun together.
We took the house also as a basis to visit the Nationalparks in this area. They are all reachable by a 20 minutes Drive from Puerto Viejo. We started with Cahuita which is in the North. Cahuita offers both hikes and time by the sea, which is a great interaction for us and the beaches in Cahuita are also "real" caribean as in Puerto Viejo the Beaches are rough and natural. Both types has it advantages and anyway the Water temperature is 28 degrees, so that swimming is possible the whole day. I started normally the day with watching the sunrise and takeing a bath directly after the sun went up.
Another Nationalpark is Manzanillo which is in the South and directly at the Boarder to Panama. We also took a Hike but i think the most valueable Places are deep in the Rainforrest. We tried to get there but we ended up in a dead end. In the end it was not our favourite Nationalpark.

Next to Nationalparks we spended a lot of time at the beaches arround our House. Punta Cocles is just a 5 Minutes walk from the House and also Punta Negro can be reached by a walk but we decided to find the end which is reachable by car also. Building sand castles and bodyboarding on the waves were our main occupations. Never did this since years and forgot about how many fun this can be.
A highlight are also the saltwater Pools for which we have a direct access from the House. Many things to explore between the tides and everyday our place to be before Sun goes down. We are still here until end of the Week and enjoy every breath!

TOOK A HIKE TO BRIBRI WATERFALL

13.01.2021

After a Complete Day of Raining, even Storming we had a beautiful start into the new Day and we decided to take a Hike. I found already at home Pictures from the BriBri Waterfalls, so we decided to go there. It is a 20 Minutes Drive from Puerto Vjejo. Once our Navigation said arrived there was nothing but a friendly Guide who gave us a parking place for only 2000 Colones (2,60 EUR) and for sure he guided us to the Waterfall. We knew that he is not doing it in his freetime - Anyway we heard before that the way is not that easy so we followed him. The Hike went trough Rivers and amazing Lanscapes. It took about 25 Minutes until we arrived in a real unbelievable Place. Something we never saw before.

A waterfall that falls with a loud roar into a bay where you can swim and even Dive. I trusted the guid who said, that i can go trough and i did it. What a powerful experience when a watterfall hits you. Again a Day for our museum...

ARRIVAL IN COSTA RICA

05.01.2021 - 12.01.2021

Our Travel started. We are so exited. Finally it is Done. We cannot belive it. We are Thankful and full of Hapiness. It was getting real first when we arrived in Costa Rica at our first Destination. Our Hotel was up on a Hill with a beautifuf view to the City. We booked 3 nights there mostly with the aim to get used to Jetlag but it was getting more than this. We couldn`t stay the first day in the hotel as planned - we were so happy and restless, so that we set off to the City to see were we are. We immediatly noticed how friendly the people are here. Everbody smiles on us or helped us. Amazing!

At the second day we took a Hike in Braulio Cariilo National Park. It was only a 40 Minutes drive and a 1.6 km Walk but since we weren`t in a Rainforrest before it was a great expierence for us. We had to learn that hiking in such high Humidity isn't that easy.

Finally we left for our first accommodation on the Caribbean east coast of the country. It was a 4 hour Drive and the route is nearly like a Lifeline from East to West. There are many trucks on the way to bring goods from the east to the west coast and vice versa. It stopped when we got to the Coast and drove along the beaches to Puerto Vjejo del Talamanca.

Arrived at hour house we were blown away. The House is  such beautiful destination with direct access to seawater Pools were we can watch Sunrises, Sundowners and find a lot of different sea animals. We Love it and are happy to stay here now for 2 weeks. One of our Highlights was definitly when we found a Sloth Bear in our Garden. We were on a way to an animal Rescue Center to watch the animals living here and found one direct in our Garden! To see such an unknown Creature was absolutly the highlight of our first 6 days.
We will report about future "FREYLIGHTS"
